Understanding Stock Movements in Shkunweb

See ordinary stock movements and production movements separately, then reconcile them to the closing balance.

Stock Summary gives you an item-by-item view. Stock Report shows the transactions behind an item's balance. Manufacturing columns are relevant when the company uses the Manufacturing business type.

What each quantity column means

ColumnMeaning
OpeningStock balance brought into the period or transaction.
In QtyOrdinary inward stock movements, excluding production receipts.
ReceiptStock received through production vouchers, such as finished goods or scrap.
Qty OutOrdinary outward stock movements, excluding production issues.
IssueStock consumed or issued through production vouchers.
ClosingThe resulting stock balance after movements.

Example: reconcile the closing quantity

For an item with 40 units opening, 10 ordinary units in, 5 production units received, 8 ordinary units out and 2 units issued to production:

40 + 10 + 5 − 8 − 2 = 45 units closing

Production receipts and issues are separate columns. Adding them again to an inclusive movement figure would count them twice. Returns may appear as negative movements in the related column.

Check a stock balance step by step

  1. Open Stock Summary and select the From and Upto dates.
  2. Choose Qty Only, PCS Only or PCS + Qty, as appropriate for your items.
  3. Open the item's Stock Report to review its movements.
  4. Start with Movement: All Vouchers so ordinary and production entries are both visible.
  5. Open the relevant voucher to inspect its quantities when a movement needs checking.
  6. Use the same period and quantity method when comparing the report, print and export.

Balances are not column sums

Opening and Closing are balances, not values to add down all transaction rows. Movement totals summarize quantities received or issued. If you filter to only one type of voucher, the displayed rows may not include every transaction used in the stock balance.

Before investigating a difference, check the selected account, period, movement filter and quantity method. Use All Vouchers to see the complete movement view for the selected period.

For manufacturing teams

Review Production Card receipts and issues alongside the stock report. Raw material and consumables are issued; finished goods and other outputs are recorded as receipts according to the production setup. Keep the stock items and units consistent between vouchers and reports.

For a large rollout, assess item volumes, historical transactions, concurrent users and report response times before deciding the production deployment.
